This is why I do this.

I grew up in Napa Valley and moved to San Francisco in 2008 — drawn to the city the way a lot of people are, by the feeling that something good was possible here. Almost two decades later, I'm still here. Still convinced.
My path to this work wasn't a straight line. I came to it through massage therapy, personal training, and eventually physical therapy — each chapter teaching me something the last one couldn't. What stayed constant was the fascination: how the body moves, why it hesitates, and what it takes to help someone feel steady and capable again. Eventually I stopped chasing the next credential and started paying attention to who I was most drawn to — and who seemed most drawn to me.
Older adults kept showing up. And I kept showing up for them.
There's something that happens when someone who has been quietly losing confidence starts to get it back. The way they carry themselves changes. The way they talk about leaving the house changes. Families exhale. That's what keeps me doing this work — not the clinical win, but the expansion of someone's world. The moment a client realizes the stairs aren't something to dread anymore.
I also think older adults in this country are underserved — not just clinically, but personally. Too many rushed appointments. Too little genuine attention. That matters to me. It shapes how I work and who I am in a session — unhurried, genuinely interested, and fully there.

Expert and compassionate… two words to describe the care that Bobby is providing. I am continuing to recover from muscle and knee injuries in the midst of a challenging climb. Bobby didn’t waste a minute getting me into a program which is doing what it’s supposed to do, focus on getting better.

It had been some time since my dad's fall, but his hesitation lingered. Bobby doesn’t just help with helping dad move better, but he also has an eye on safety around the home. I had no idea my dad's backless slippers were encouraging him to shuffle his feet. It’s a huge relief knowing my dad is in such capable, caring hands.

Between doctor appointments and family visits, Bobby comes to me — and that changes everything. The attention is focused yet relaxed in a way a busy office never could be. My progress moved faster because every session was built entirely around me.
